About Poppi

A museum that retells the story of drugs

Drugs have the power to divide societies and people. They are evil, pleasurable, wonderful, illegal, criminal, sensational, destructive, spiritual and many other things, depending on whom you ask. Poppi collects all these insights and retells the story about drugs.

What we do

Experiencing and learning

Poppi’s dynamic exhibitions blend facts with fun, creating an immersive and interactive experience where diverse audiences unite to explore the intriguing topic of drugs

We aim to break taboos and stigmas, to educate and inform, and to stimulate an evidence-based public debate on drugs. We organize:

  • immersive artistic exhibitions,
  • photo exhibitions,
  • digital tours,
  • debates.

What we don’t do

We certainly DO NOT promote or sell drugs. Poppi promotes education and informed discussion about drugs, and not encourages use. We accept that drugs are a big part of our society and believe that knowledge and open debate can reduce harm associated with them – both on the individual, and political level.

OPENing the museum

Poppi is working towards opening a permanent exhibition space in 2028. We are gradually realizing this dream by designing art installations, photo exhibitions, events and debates. Each one a bit bigger, better and bolder.

Poppi is an experiential educational ‘start-up’ museum dedicated to fostering open conversations about drugs and their societal impact.

SOCIAL ENTERPRISE

Poppi Drugs Museum (bv) is set up as a social enterprise by Mainline foundation. We know that drugs can damage lives and want to contribute to reducing harms associated with drug use and drug-related crime. We do so by offering education, creating safe work spaces and generating funds in support of the health and rights of people who use drugs.

Poppi Foundation is working alongside the social enterprise Poppi Drugs Museum. The foundation is responsible for fundraising and the development of new art and materials.
